Hi. I'm Geoff Pynn, and I teach philosophy.
I teach at Elgin Community College. From 2008 to 2019, I taught at Northern Illinois University. I teach on a wide range of topics. My research has focused on epistemology. In academic philosophy mode, I've written about epistemic contextualism, counterfactuals, formal epistemology, and social epistemology. I'm now more focused on philosophical pedagogy, and interested in creating connections between professional philosophers and ordinary people. I see this as a way of doing epistemology.
While I was the graduate adviser for NIU's MA program in philosophy, I created a listing of funding at MA programs in the US and Canada. Let me know if you have updates for this list, or if you're interested in taking over its maintenance.

Wireless Philosophy
I'm associate director of Wireless Philosophy (Wi-Phi), a popular resource of educational philosophy videos for the general public. We were recently awarded a $250,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, and are producing series on happiness, punishment, bioethics, and more.
I've made a number of videos for Wi-Phi. The most recent was an entry on Virtue Epistemology in our mini-course on the theory of knowledge, put together by Jennifer Nagel and myself.

Recent publications
Until recently, my work was primarily focused on some pretty technical issues in epistemology. I'm in the midst of changing gears. I'm currently finishing up a paper on epistemic injustice, and have several projects in the works about public and engaged philosophy.
